Do you believe in 5P - Planning Prevents Pathetically Poor Performance? Then B.A.D mnemonic will help you. This article is all about how well you organize yourself Before, During and After the presentation. Planning is a guess work. You think in different dimensions...
Before: Close your book, pen, computer and eyes. Visualize your presentation sequentially and note down, mentally, the required machine, materials, media, manpower, and money. Visually, from your mind's eye, play the entire presentation like a movie. Watch it keenly.
During: Multi-dimensional thinking will help you to organize your presentation better. Look from audience perspective. They need tea/coffee breaks. They need enough time for lunch. They need readable and easily understandable presentation materials. PPT Slides that is clear, short yet informative. As a presenter, your presentation becomes effective if your view is clear on what your audience want. First try to express yourself then try to impress them.
After: Send a thank note to the audience for their curious participation. Answer all those questions, either through mail or phone that were postponed during the presentation and those topics that you said "let us discuss offline".
Also, keep buffer slides, which you may not use at all, so that, in case, if needed, could be used.
Presentation is all about what you say and how you say it. Along with strong technical details if you enhance your tone, voice clarity and sense of humor, audience would enjoy and cherish your presentation. So, be a BAD presenter and be organized!
