In the case of doing business outside the world of the internet, most employees in a big company will eventually have to get involved in doing creative presentations. They may merely give information on trends as to how the company is going; did it reach the targeted market goal? Or maybe you will present to a number of executives from big-time companies your new product line.
Now then, presenting your "new product" is not as easy as you think. Think of it this way; your presenting will determine your company's success.
A wise man once said. "Investors don't like you, or your company. They don't care about your products. They just need to know how they are going to make money-or they'll get fired if they don't." And that wise man is Jimmy Treybig, partner at a venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates.
In this case, I will not hold you long; I wanted to share these surefire habits to boost your business in the future or even now.
Killer No. 1: Attention to details more willingly than the overall marketing and your company's prospects within keeping an eye in every detail constantly brings a challenge to entrepreneurs, marketers and the like. Like what Pete Selda said, "People get mired in how sexy the technology is," who have sold an anti-phishing software to Symantec.
Killer No. 2: Distribution of Stable and Constant Messages. No matter what your industry is, sending out multiple messages to your targeted audience is one way of tactics to success. You have to keep your customers informed and somehow get them excited with your products and services as well.
Killer No. 3: Text and Graphics Overload. Who would love to listen to you and reading your slides with all sorts of drawings and a lot of texts? I personally do not want to look at that presentation slides! Not only constraints my dazzling eyes, but it also gives me headache while reading. Keep your presentation content-wise, specific and detailed information with graphics in minimum.
Killer No. 4: Key-points are out of nowhere. A lot of presenters in business or even in school, giving out key points in their report are usually forgotten. They mostly are consuming their time making a good and creative presentation, and yet forgetting to study what the important keys are.
Killer No. 5: Turning your Back on the Audience. Another rule of thumb, if you’re going to present, avoid turning your back. This will most likely happen if you did not master your presentation as well as your topic or even your product as well.
Killer No. 6: Flat Affect. This is funny. Come on guys, be yourself, be grateful with what you are sharing to your audience. Put your face with at least a professional smile. Do not just stand there, doing your lecture without any expression. You make yourself boring to look at and this affects your crowd as well. Making them walk-out of your discussion.
Killer No. 7: Uninspired Presentations. Having uninspired presentation are killers. As such, failure to explain a phrase, miscalculations, overly zealous projections are all can be deadly. Make sure that you keep track to reality. Make certain to every text/phrase in your presentation and in parallel to that is how you explain things.
Killer No. 8: Consistency is the Game. So, whatever your information given, executives, managing directors, consultants, etc. are all going to remember it. Moreover, they also have good memory when it comes to facts based from the past.
Killer No. 9: Risk Management. In every plan to propose, there is always a risk behind sticking it. That is why, in every company, one must have its strategic planning and also a short-course of planning. Planning not only involves your objectives, but also you are considering risks and how you will manage it.
Killer No. 10: Finally, to keep your presentation alive, do not forget to a good and humble closer-and not merely a summation of points and a simple thank you, says Hankins. Besides, get feedback. This could help you as a person, as to your company and to the future success of everyone.
