Our presentation skills training courses can be provided as off-the-shelf presentations seminars, workshops, or classes. The classes are ready to be delivered to a diverse audience or can be customized to provide a tailored presentations and personalized approach based on client needs. All presentations skills classes are limited to a maximum of twelve participants so as to increase seminar effectiveness and provide the individual level of presentations coaching and interaction that is associated with the Presentations Skills Training Workshops Center.

Presentations that Sell - Presentation Training to Fix Fatal Flaws

Every time you undertake a client-facing interaction, you have an opportunity to establish or build a relationship. Whether you talk to me across a desk or standing in front of a PowerPoint screen, you can connect with me if you keep in mind that you are presenting--your personal brand, your company brand, your qualities and your qualifications. Of course, every presentation is ultimately in service of your goal: making the sale. And that may be why the nerves kick in. Delivering a formal presentation to make an important sale can be a stomach churning, nightmare spawning event.

The good news is: you can relax. You can get out there, separate yourself from the crowd and win the sale. Because in business, championship performance is based on a simple communication truth: it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

That's right. It's all about how you say it.

But all too often, the audience doesn't even know what the it is because the presenter failed to make it clear. Or if the presenter did manage to get it out, somehow the audience missed it completely. The it we are speaking of here is your presentation message--the key take-away you want your audience to remember even if they forget everything else.

A memorable presentation message helps your audience remember you and connect with you. A well crafted presentation message, convincingly delivered, makes you more likeable and is essential for establishing the relationship on which you hope to build business. And yet statistics tell us that more often than not, audience members have absolutely no memory of having heard a message.

With all the preparation that usually goes into a big sales presentation, how could such a terrible thing happen? Simple. The presenter has fallen to fatal flaw #2.

You bury your presentation message.

Some presenters actually know their message and can articulate it very nicely, thank-you-very-much. But it's buried somewhere in the middle of the presentation and the audience tends to miss it in the deluge of facts, figures, detail and minutiae. Others think their message is obvious and assume the audience will figure it out for themselves. Big mistake. Still others are convinced their content is so riveting, listeners will be in thrall throughout. These presenters typically save their message for the end. Sadly, most of the audience has either drifted off to sleep by then, or have shifted their attention to their personal shopping list for Saturday.

While there is a general feeling among presenters that stating the message too soon is a tactical mistake, research shows that nothing could be farther from the truth. Begin with your message - so your audience hears it, understands it, and sits back happily to listen. The rest of your presentation is simply proof that you can deliver on that message.

How you say it is important, of course. Even more important is that you must say it. Begin with your message, then restate it at intervals throughout your talk so it becomes familiar and even more believable with repetition. Start with your message and end with it. Your audience will buy in -- and you win.
