Complex Presentation Skills Seminar

Giving a presentation can be a challenging task for many people. Managing the anxiety and providing a clear presentation can be tough for those who have to present even the most straightforward content. Imagine the daunting task faced by those who must not only deal with typical presentation challenges but must also present to audiences on complex subjects. What constitutes a complex subject? One might point an ERP product briefing to a group of executives at a company-sponsored event. Another example might be a scientist explaining lab results to a task force at a biotechnology company. Perhaps one might think of a company’s controller presenting to executives on a variety of financial topics. All of these presentations fall under the realm of complex presentations. They are, specifically, topics that are considered by most people to be highly technical or not necessarily clear to the layman. Many people take for granted that in order to be understood, these types of presentations must be handled differently than a marketing presentation or a report on hiring trends in an organization. Presenters who speak on complex subjects need to take the time to not only improve their personal presentation skills but also understand how to make difficult subject matter more manageable.

The Presentations Training Center developed the Complex Presentations Skills training workshop as a way to help struggling presenters become more effective in presenting difficult content to their audiences. Regardless of whether one has to explain financial results to a group of employees or explain technical data to customers, the Complex Presentation Skills class teaches valuable skills that can be applied to any presentation. Though a modularized learning process, intensive practice, personalized activities, group discussions and coaching, we enable participants to progress through the class to become stronger, more engaging presenters. Time is spent understanding not only how to make content more digestible but also how to deliver that content in a more dynamic manner. Areas covered include how to deliver content properly, how to utilize various visual aids and presentation media to reinforce a message and how to deal with various learning types and audience needs. The interactive nature of this training class ensures that each participant is able to practice skills and make individual strides. At the end of the Complex Presentation Skills training session, participants will leave with valuable skills that can be utilized immediately following the workshop.
