Presentation Skills Training Tips to Make Business Presentations Easier

Whether this is the first time or the 100th time to do a business presentation, you want it to come across with impact for your audience. Here are some key tips for making your presentation easier, so you can "wow" your audience with a great take-away, and create less stress for yourself while making it.

Tip #1: Use a simple template to organize your content that will fit all your business presentations. The best one is to write three main points about what you want to convey to your specific audience. Under each of those three areas list one of your support items, such as, a story, an example, or a key statistic.

Tip #2: Focus on writing your introduction to start with a question, or a fact, to get the attention and curiosity of your audience. Then tell them the three main points you are about to present to them.

Tip # 3: Focus on writing your conclusion by summing up your three key points; but be sure to end with what you are giving your audience as their "take-away" tip from your presentation that they could implement today. This helps your audience feel the value for what you have just presented to them, and that it was indeed worth their time to listen to you.

Tip #4: Create a Power Point presentation if it enhances your speech not replace it! In other words, add one or two key pictures that match your main points, or a graph to sum up your statistics. Avoid listing bullets with content; after all, you are the messenger or speaker of the content, not the reader of the Power Point.

Tip # 5: Rehearse 4 times your entire presentation using your technical equipment, so it comes off seamlessly!

These tips will not only make any presentation easier to approach and organize; but also, help you communicate your message with impact to your audience. Using this approach gives structure to your presentation that you can flesh out as needed to fit short or long presentations. By the end of this process you will become more confident because you are prepared and rehearsed. Use these tips to create less stress in your work life, and create a powerful presence to your audience.
